I have a DOCSIS 2. Motorola cable modem with a E3000 Linkseys router.
I also have the fastest internet speed package from Charter Communications.
The difficulty is that I keep acquiring disconnected from my world wide web every single five-10 minutes. And when I use the PS3 network while on-line on the desktop pc, the internet genuinely does not perform.
Must I just invest in $ 100 DOCSIS 3. cable modem or lease Charter Communication’s modem and router and have them configure it all out for me? I know it really is much better in the Long RUN to have my own but … just what do you guys feel??
My husband and I have been dealing with crappy service for practically three months now and everytime I speak to them, they by no means want to assist unless it’s their modem/router.

What a ripoff! $ 9.99 a month to “rent” their gear so you can purchase their service. And a 2-year commitment on best of that. That functions out to $ 240.00 over 24 months. I hate that!
I read up a little on the 3. modem. Individuals appear to like it even if their service is nonetheless DOCSIS 2.. So it may possibly be a good buy. You need to upgrade to a docsis 3.0. Why not just rent a docsis 3.0 modem from charter for $ 5 instead and buy a $ 50-100 router (I got my router for $ 80 at Best Buy; a Netgear). That’s what I did and my speeds and reliability have gone up tremendously. I sometimes get 30 megs of internet.
